Learn to Provide Services as a Business Coach Should
The business coaching process should start with an assessment of the business, or any individual current challenges and potential. It should consider any priorities for action relative to desired outcomes. This assessment will provide a business coach with information on how to create coaching goals and strategies to support the client. The coach can then develop a method to evaluate their progress.
Coaches may consider different methods for optimising the operations of a new or existing business. Areas for improvement (e.g. marketing or networking) will often emerge.
An important aspect of any business, new or existing, is their aims. Consider what are they planning to do? What are they hoping to achieve and how are they going to do that? Are they looking for long term business sustainability, or perhaps their aim is to grow the business then sell it and move on.
One important way this is considered is through the development of a business plan. All businesses should have one, no matter how small the business. Also, business plans should be flexible and continually updated, to take account of the changes within the business.
A coach may need to work with a client to develop their business plan, or just offer suggestions after it has been developed.
